These waterside photos were taken in Goa and Assam over a period of nine months. During this immersive journey, many of the subjects, specially the fisherfolk and their dogs, became friends — wordless, nameless, free-flowing bonds that endure.












































































The word silhouette has curious etymology. It is named after Étienne de Silhouette (1709–67), a French author and politician. One story is that Monsieur Silhouette promoted an austere economy as finance minister and, therefore, 'his name became synonymous with anything done or made cheaply and so with these outline portraits.' - Wikipedia etc.
